Okawa Shaznay Biography – Okawa Shaznay, born May 29, 1986, is a renowned actress and model from Cameroon who made history as the first Cameroonian to enter the Nigerian film industry.
She gained recognition for her work in the hit film “Iyore”, opposite notable actors Rita Dominic and Joseph Benjamin. okawa shaznay rose to fame after her starring role in the 2016 TV series “Delilah: The Mysterious Case of Delilah Ambrose”. That same year, she was honored with the Beautiful Woman of the Year (ELOY) for Best TV Actress thanks to her best portrayal in “Delilah”.

okawa shaznay spent her childhood in Cameroon, developing a passion for acting early on. She has been actively involved in stage plays and small film projects within her community.
In the 1990s, Nigerian films began to saturate the Cameroonian market, a trend that has continued for years. The show introduced her to Nollywood, a world of cinema that she quickly fell in love with and fell in love with. Inspired by popular Nigerian television series such as “After the Storm” and “When the Sun Sets”, as well as classic films such as “Glamour Girls”, “Scores to Settle”, and Living in Bondage”, okawa shaznay felt a strong pull towards a career in Nollywood.
For her secondary and high school education, she attended Presbyterian Secondary School in Mankon, located in the North West Region of Cameroon. In 2005, okawa shaznay traveled to the United States for advanced studies. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas South University in 2009.

Shaznay Okawa’s acting career began with her first film, “Master DJ”, produced by Sara bi Pictures in Cameroon in 2004. She later moved to the United States and joined the All Africa Theater Company there in Houston. During her time with the company, she toured for two summers and performed a version of Chinua Achebe’s “Things Fall Apart”. The U.S.A. has appeared in over ten African films, collaborating with many top Nollywood actors.
In 2010, her growing influence in the African film industry in the US. in 2008, which led to her being recognized as one of the 50 Cameroonians to watch by British blog Dulce Camer. okawa shaznay eventually returned to Africa and landed the lead role in “Cheaters”, directed by the famous Frank Rajah Arase.
In 2014, she starred in her first Nigerian movie, the hugely successful “Iyore” released in 2015. This movie starred Nollywood stars Rita Dominic and Joseph Benjamin. Known as a rising Cameroonian talent in African cinema, okawa shaznay also starred in the 2016 TV series “Delilah.”
